Flag State Seafarer Documentation
Official certificates and credentials issued or endorsed by a country's maritime administration — the Flag State — that allow a seafarer to serve legally on vessels registered under that flag.
Flag State Seafarer Documentation refers to the official certificates and credentials issued or endorsed by a country's maritime administration (the "Flag State") allowing a seafarer to serve legally on vessels registered under that flag.
Under STCW Regulation I/10 (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping), any officer or rating serving on a foreign-flagged vessel must hold documentation approved by that specific Flag State Administration.
Girik does several seafarers flag state documentation on behalf of various flags such as Panama, Honduras ,Liberia Palau, Cook Islands, St Kitts and Nevis, Tanzania, Cameroon, Belize, Comoros, Malta, Bahamas, Antigua & Barbuda,
St Vincente , Vanuatu, Marshall Islands and Gambia.
Every seaman on board, irrespective of their Rank should have Personal Identity Card. This is mandatory by the International Maritime Rules and Regulations. The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for seafarers (STCW) stipulates that every seafarer must inevitably carry this identity document, while onboard.
The CDC also serves another purpose that the seamen in possession of this certificate has the necessary sea experience, and have passed the required Training Courses, relevant to the ships and vessels.
Since most of the ships are registered with Panama Registry, and hoist the Panama Flag of Convenience, a token of compliance with regulations according to International Standards, the Panama Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC) and Certificate of endorsement (CoE) is highly valuable. This Panama CDC is acceptable identification for seamen in any country. A CDC is the seaman’s book and if anyone wants to acquire this Certificate, they must undergo all the relevant Training Courses and come out successful. Girik helps people in getting Panama CDC and start their career in ships.
A Panama Certificate of Endorsement (CoE) is an official document issued by the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP / Autoridad Marítima de Panamá). It recognizes a seafarer's national Certificate of Competency (CoC) or proficiency courses issued by an STCW "White List" country, authorizing them to serve in their designated rank on Panamanian-flagged vessels.
We, at the Girik Shipping , understand the essence of career advancement and the necessary tools required to make it happen. Undeniable assistance is provided to seafarers in obtaining the Full Term CDC or a CoE, together with other endorsements.
All crew members working aboard Panama-flagged vessels are legally required to hold Panamanian flag state endorsements or full-term certificates.
Honduras Flag Documentation Services are governed by the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine (Dirección General de la Marina Mercante - DGMM) of the Republic of Honduras.
Seafarers serving aboard Honduras-flagged vessels must possess valid national endorsements, Continuous Discharge Certificates (CDC), or Certificates of Endorsement (CoE) issued or endorsed by the Honduran Maritime Administration in compliance with the STCW Convention.
